Recent results from the HOUPE study are the first to demonstrate that patient confidentiality is associated with burnout in the process of stress management among hospital physicians.
HOUPE data from Italy and Sweden show that despite signs of depression, doctors do not seek professional counselling. [In Swedish] The results are published in Swiss Medical Weekly.
The data collection of Phase II of the HOUPE study have started.  Physicians in the Netherlands, Sweden and  Norway are finalized. The data collection among physicians in Austria will start in November
The HOUPE project

Health and Organisation among University hospital Physicians in Europe [HOUPE], is an intervention research project. The project generates data among 7 000 hospital physicians on determinants in the educational system, the organization and work environment that affect the recruitment in academic medicine and physicians career, work conditions, work satisfaction and health.
